NPPR payment, can I pay for this year only?

If someone was renting their home since March 2011 what would they owe now,would they be better off just paying for this year as others have suggested and hope for the best?

No, that would be a false economy, as if they ever sell, they will be caught for huge fines.
 
Who's to know when you go to sell the property that it isn't a primary home. If u go to an estate agent and say you want to sell your home i can't see how they would find out. I have paid mine but i'm curious of the checks that are in place

With that sort of logic presumably you won't be declaring Capital Gains either? Sure just avoid every tax going that you can, why not?
