Posting for a friend who recently received a letter from Ulster Bank that was addressed to her late mother requesting to close a bank account. Her mother passed away in 2006 and all correspondence was sent to a third party who resides at the address of her deceased mother. There is no indication of the amount involved and the letter requires that the account ending XXXXXX1234 should be closed by Mar 2023. My friend is unsure how to deal with it or even if it is worthwhile pursuing this. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks
I would definitely check on it but equally it doesn't indicate there is anything in the account, I am getting emails and letters re my deceased Dad's account, I am just ignoring them as the balance is zero, UB can close it themselves.
