Notice Period query

Hi Folks

i wonder if someone could tell me how loose or rigid the wording of my notice period is on my contract, i really only want to give 1 months notice.

The wording is

"[FONT=&quot]The company expects three calendar months notice for employees who voluntarily terminate employment"
[/FONT]
with this wording i think i could argue that there is no onus on me to meet the companies expectation of the 3 months notice. be interested to see what other think of this.

With that wording you can do what you like.

I'd agree. That is a statement of the company's expectations, it doesn't specify a requirement of employees to give a spcecific amount of notice.
