notice of change of solicitor

if i change solicitor, but have previously entered a defence etc under the previous solicitor, do i need to file a new defence or will the old defence stand as it.


also, can my case proceed to court, if my new solicitor hasnt yet filed " a notice of chnage of solicitor"/ officially come on record for me?
