Whenever I log onto the net I have to turn off the firewall to log onto any website. Once I turn it off it connects immediately. Anyone got any ideas, I've tried to see if there is anything turned on that shouldn't but can't see it?

What fire wall are you using? What kind of PC (OS) do you have? (windows XP?), or is it on your modem/router that you're switching it off? (If so, what type are you using)

I'm using zone alarm on my PC which has a "stop all internet activity". Is it something like this you're turning on & off or are you actually shutting down the firewall.

Edit:
Ok, read the title again:)
Not sure if Norton is the same as the standard windows firewall or not. Some where there should be a list of exceptions, or programs that are allowed to access the internet & what ever browser you're using should be part of that list.
