northern management companies operating in the south

Hi would anyone have any information on
what point a management company can take over an estate from the developer/builder?

Do all building works have to be finished(site completely finished, roads with finished surface e.t.c..)?

Can you forsee a problem with a management company based outside the Republic.. e.g from the north of ireland. And which consumer agency could assist with future snags with that company?

In all probability the management company is set up by the developer already. It would be unusual for the developer to set up the company in another country. By any chance are you confusing management company and management agent?

as an aside, I recommend changing the title to be more useful and doing a search on the vast bank of knowledge about management companies and agents on AAM

Owners in a managed development are members of the management company from purchase. Typically the builders will stay on as directors until the last unit is sold, but not always.

I would revert to the solicitor who dealt with your purchase, they should know more about the management company and should have flagged it as an issue if the management company was set up outside the state.

I'm still not 100% sure if you are referring to a management agent from NI being employed to look after the development or the management company being incorporated in NI. If the agent is from NI, my concern would be elevated administration expenses (postage, calls etc) and slow response times. It's hard enough when the management agents are within 10 miles!
