Northern Ireland Kitchen supply & fit to Dublin

Hi folks,
We're on a tight budget and looking for a new kitchen to be fitted in our extension.
Our new kitchen is large but our budget is tight and the kind of quotes we've been given around Dublin are outside this budget.
So I'm going to try across the border and looking for any receommendations of a kitchen supplier who would also fit in Dublin. Not looking for anything too posh but a recommendation would be great.

Yes, an idea of your budget would help. Perhaps you have unrealistic expectations.

IKEA would be quite cheap, as would the likes of B&Q etc. But some of these cheaper places have a bad reputation, and in general you get what you pay for.

If you can do some of the work yourself I can suggest some cheaper places.

What's the budget for cabinets and doors? Is it 2K, 3K, or 5K plus?

The size of our budget is dependant on the tender returns for the main project, but i expect it to be roughly €7-9000 inc appliances.
Any recemmendations would be welcome. Was hoping for a smaller outfit rather than Ikea and B&Q, which we will use if we have to. We could also use our main contractor to assemble the kitchen if supply only offers good value.

I'd have thought that was enough. It depends on the size of the kitchen, and the quality I suppose,.. and of course how much of the budget you intend to spend on appliances, sink and taps, and on worktops.

You could spend 3,000 on appliances, sink and taps, and another 300 say for worktops. That'd leave you several thousand for cabinets and fitting.

You want chipboard, mass produced cabinets, yes? So I'd say call Woodworkers.ie, or any of the other kitchen crowds, and get some quotes. You have got some quotes already.. if these are all too high then perhaps your kitchen is very large, and they are only charging a fair price. You can see Woodworkers.ie cabinet and door prices online, so you can make up your own quote, and compare it to those you've been receiving.

Kitchens would be competatively priced at the moment. Can you describe the type of kitchen you're looking for?
 

Rather than looking in Northern Ireland, you might be better off obtaining quotes from rural kitchen suppliers who are willing to supply and fit in Dublin. If things go wrong with a NI supplier, you will have much more difficulty enforcing your consumer rights than you would have with an ROI supplier, due to the differences between the UK & ROI legal systems.
