Hi all,

I was hoping you might be able to help. On the 21st July I contacted an Irish based electronic repair company to fix a pair of Dr. Dre Beats earphones (soldering of cables to jack). On 26th July my earphones were picked up by Nightline (have the docket) and I was informed by the repair company I would have them back by (latest) 31st July.

I contacted the repair company on 1st Aug (left voicemail and e-mail on website) and eventually I got a response saying that the person who fixes these issues was out sick and that I should definitely have the earphones returned on Mon 6th.

However it is now 13th and I have left numerous voicemails with the company and 2 e-mails and have heard nothing back.

Do I have any comeback on this? Is there anything I can do to get my earphones returned (as they are quite expensive) even if they couldn't repair them.

I look forward to your response.

Having just sorted out a consumer issue with a shop, where I was informed of "consumer frustration" that I was suffering and not anything to do infringements under consumer law etc, its really a waiting game, however goodwill may kick in if you request it when engineer comes back from sick leave.

In my case I went above the retailer (who wanted to pull out my goodwill second deal and return just the monies I had paid for the original item), direct to manufacturer (and found my goodwill gesture item was indeed available in Ireland) and got my issue sorted. Exhaust all avenues.

Good luck with it.
