I am Australian resident and need to sell Irish shares that I inherited many years ago, Australian banks will no longer deal with irish cheque’s so throwing dividends in bin. I tried Goodbody but they won’t open an account for non resident and canot sell shares with out an account. Share management companies ( linkassetservices) also won’t sell for non residents.
any suggestions welcome!
thanks

Try contacting the company/companies. It sounds like you physical share certificates so the company may have a deal with a broker. If you hold the shares electronically through a nominee account then the nominee may have some way of selling them.

Would an Australian stockbroker not sell them for you?

Presumably Australian stockbrokers buy and sell shares throughout the World for their clients?
