Non resident- Irish rental income. ? Allowed to pay PRSI for pension

Hi
Im a UK resident for the past 7 years. My only Irish income is from rental property. I know as a non resident I am not obliged to pay PRSI. However am I allowed to and if I do will this grant me pension rights in Ireland?

Thanks for that- Are you able to expand a little? Will I have any entitlement to an Irish pension. I'm 48. I spent over 15 years working in Ireland- 4 years PAYE and the rest self employed.

Your eventual Irish pension entitlement will depend on your contribution record and the rules in force at the time. You can check your entitlements, based on current rules, by contacting the Dept of Social Protection or checking their website.
