Hi,

As a non irish resident do i need to pay Dividend holding tax on dividends from Irish companies e.g. BOI ?

Any what about shares from companies in different countries - my keytrade account deducts DWT from dividends paid by companies registered in other EU countries - should i be able to claim this back?

I'm living in China and think they have a double taxation agreement with ireland.

thanks

DWT is not deducted on distributions/dividends received by a non resident where a Double Tax agreement is in place with that country. This is standard for E.U. Countries. However the onus is on the shareholder to provide the evidence which to my knowlege is a specific form which (for Ireland only)is in accordance with Irelands tax legislation in Schedule 2A and present this to the distributing company. Maybe ring the company?
