Non payment of wages

Hi I'm looking for some advice,My employer recently informed that I was being made redundant after 7 years service.I have applied for my redundancy if full as he claims he does not have enough money to pay the 30% himself.He also owes 3000.00 in wages and 30 days holiday pay I recently overheard him saying he was going to liquidate the co.
If a liquidator comes in will he look after the employee's first.

Really sorry to here that Tim. I think you should be entitled to be paid out of the liquidation proceeds. What industry are you in?
 
Hi Stephen,
We are in the distribution business,I mistakenly belived that my employer was going to look after me if the business went bust I worked my ass off for 7 years not one sick day in all that time and owed 30 days holidays its a bit of an eye opener,I'm going to a solicitor in the morning something I hate doing.
