Non-EU Citizen getting married in Ireland

I am a non-EU citizen and have been living in Ireland for the last 7 years. My partner is Irish and we plan to marry here later in the year. He was married before so it will be a civil ceremony.

Does anyone know what paperwork I need to obtain? Our local registry office requires an appointment and both partners to be present even to make a simple enquiry and as we both work a good bit away from there, I'd rather get as much information as I can elsewhere.
