Noise from neighbours garage

My neighbour built a garage as I thought it was a few years ago.

Now here we are listening to the noise of a grinder and welder every evening and every saturday. He uses the garage now as a workshop making gates and other metal fabricating bits.

The issue has been raised on several occasions already. I understand it is some extra income for him and his family, but do we have to endure the noise. We have an infant whoes sleep is effected by the noise as he goes to bed early.

We live in the country on a half acre.
His garage/workshop is very close to our house,
There boundary is marked only by a wire fence,

Please advise anyone

Textbook nuisance. As the neighbour is ignoring your concern a solicitor's letter of complaint might put manners on him as you have rights too.

You could try contacting your local County Council or your local Councilors as if he's operating a commercial enterprise from a residential property, he may need planning permission.

You could also try your local Environmental Health Officer with regard to the noise.
