Hi,
Ive noticed a very high pitched scraping / squeeling noise coming from my rh front tyre when I move off and am acceleratting. When I touch the break or clutch it in order to slow down then the noise goes away but as soon as Im accelerating again the noise returns.
Am driving an Almera.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

you could have a loose wheel bearing. do you have to pump the brakes sometimes ?. i would jack the car up and check if the wheel is loose as the last thing you want is for it to fall off.

no...the brakes work fine... its wierd...you could be driving along and no noise and suddenly it kicks in

also recently noticed when Ive been reversing the noise is starting to show itself aswell though far more pronounced.

Are you certain it is comming from the wheel?
It could be a loose fan belt causing a squeel when changing speed.

I have to say that I had the very same noise from a front wheel and same as you it was even more obvious when reversing. A new set of brake pads solved the problem.
