Anybody know why there is no west wing on rte this week?

Sorry if i put this in the wrong thread, thought I was in dvd/tv, not sure how to move it.

20/04/06 Finally got this reply from rte:

I am in receipt of your email re above.
The West Wing is not over but is being replaced this week by a special programme "Duncan Stewart: Return to Chernobyl".
The West Wing will resume next Thursday, April 27th, on RTE 1 at 11.15 pm.

Kind regards.
Bernie Fitzpatrick - RTE Information Officer.

I don't know, but perhaps RTE is catching up with the US and needs to take a break so that it is always a set number of weeks behind ?

Something similar happens with er on RTE and E4.
E4 start off a few weeks behind and usually, by May, are neck and neck or ahead of RTE.

US programme scheduling is prone to taking breaks with such programmes to extend the series duration.

RTE is not catching up with the US, West Wing is 3 weeks ahead of us in the US.

They have moved quite a few programs for Easter Week. As they move the
time of West Wing every week, I am not surprised, but a little frustrated,

FWIW there is no er on RTE at weekend (if www.radiotimes.com is right).

By the time RTE screen it Sun 30 April, that episode will already have been screened on E4 on Thu 27 April.

RTE started this series of er a few weeks ahead of E4 but will, again, finish it after them.
