Very sad news about the death of Joe Dolan.

There are not many artists nowadays who can boast careers spanning over four decades and Joe was definitely part of Irish cultural history.

One of my own very happy early childhood memories was my Dad (who fancied himself as being just as good as Joe, by the way) singing Sweet Little Rock-N-Roller, or Teresa at Christmas or other family gatherings with us all joining in.

In my later years, there was something of a Joe revival, and I have had many “ladies nights” at a Joe Show. You could bring your granny, your mammy, your sister, your Aunt Bessie and all would have the craic, as he was a true showman.

As they say, there’s no show like a Joe Show.

A great guy, terrific performer and a legend in his own lifetime

He certainly done no harm to anyone only what joy he brought to the thousands that saw him, And on a few occasions I saw The Show they were very enjoyable nights had by all.
