No Laser Refund from Penneys after two weeks

Hi there

On the 7th of March I paid for some clothes my girlfriend wanted from Penneys, but then she changed her mind and wanted them returned.
As I paid with Laser, they said they'd have to put it back onto my card.
As of today (the 22nd) the money still hasn't showed up. The problem is made worse by the fact that the Penneys is three counties over from where I am. I rang my bank and they said they can't do anything, so I'm wondering if this is normal for Penneys to take that bit longer?

Are you sure that the amount was actually deducted from your bank account?

The reason I ask is that if the debit & the credit were in the same batch neither would actually show on your bank account at all.

If it has, then you should contact them, as with a retailer as busy as Penney's a refund wouldn't usually take any longer than 5 days to show on your bank account.
 
Note that you aren't entitled to a refund for change of mind reasons, so don't get too bolshy with them.
 
That doesn't matter, Penneys give goodwill refunds. I've gotten loads of refunds from them onto later- definitely not a 2 week wait. If you have your statement, are you sure the original transaction went through? Your bank should be able to at least tell you what transactions are on your card.
