No cold water in bathroom taps

Toilet cistern was filling very slowly so i turned off water, ran the cold tap in bathroom until water stopped and took apart the fill mechanism. Found a load of crud and cleaned it out.

Probably should have cut water off else where but plumbing system is a nightmare (second-hand house)

However when i turned back on the water i now have only a tiny dribble from the cold tap on the bath and nothing to the sink or cistern. Tank is full in the attic but is clung to roof so i cant get a look inside to see if lines are blocked.

Help please as I have my kids party on saturday with 25 people comming and no working toilet !!!

Try connecting a hose from kitchen cold tap ( mains supply) to bath or washbasin cold tap. Open both taps and reverse flow the pipe back to the attic tank. This usually clears any blockage.

Emergency over.

Banged and shook every pipe and fitting before going to bed last night and the water fairies must have come in because I have water again this morning.

Probably shouldn't celebrate too soon but what the hell!
