Not as good as the new ones. The 2003 model has a very uncomfortable front seating position (kinda like the old hatchback honda civic), the leg room in the back (Crew Cab model) is excellent if you are 3 or 4 years old and be prepared to sh1t your trousers when driving around roundabouts in the wet. In fact I would recommend you just drive over them.
That being said there is something fun about driving one. I would actually buy one myself if I couldn't afford the newer model. They are still better than Mitsubishi L 200-point turn. (worst turning circle ever!) However nothing in the pick up part is safe, even with the canope.
