The thread title suggests that the problem is with Nissan. Anyway nobody is any the wiser as to how the goalposts were allegedly moved so - as mentioned above - perhaps the best thing is to read the terms & conditions of whatever agreement is involved in case they cover the issue already.Grizzly said:"My son did a deal on this last year but now finds that the goalposts are being moved by the garage". I'm not quite sure what you wanted me to say. I suppose I could have added "by the garage that sold him the car".
Grizzly it would be helpful if you could elaborate as Clubman and others have asked.ClubMan said:If you insinuate that there is something amiss here then it's only fair to explain what it is and to substantiate it.
Grizzly said:I agree with what you say to a certain extent. I really was directing my question at those people who took up the Nissan Double Take offer. I am trying to avoid the usual answers from certain individuals who take pleasure in stating the obvious. For example. Somebody complains about the service in a restaurant. This individual in reply then says "Well did you complain to the manager". Or in my case "Did you read the terms and conditions". I know that I need to read the contract and stated this in my first post yet I was still given the advice to read "the terms and conditions".
I genuinely appreciate all the advice I have received over the years. I haven't always posted under the name "Grizzly" but in previous lives I have had threads effectively closed by people hijacking my query and turning it in to something else. There are people out there who cannot leave a thread run its course but feel the need to fill the vacuum with any type of response. I may have been guilty of this myself on occassions but I try and discipline myself.
Anyhow regarding the Nissan offer I do not have all the facts yet but when I do I will post as much information as I can. If there is something iffy going on I think I am am capable of sorting it out but by hearing from others directly involved in the offer I can find out if this moving of the goalposts is widespread or just confined to this particular garage.
I only suggested reading the terms & conditions because the lack of any specific useful information about the complaint precluded any more informed comment and I made this clear above. In any case quite often it's necessary to state the obvious. Just read many of the threads on AAM about all sorts of different issues which are often answered by seemingly obvious comments. If it is obvious the the person asking the question then no harm done and they can overlook the comments rather than bitching about them. To other readers interested in the topic such seemingly obvious comments may be helpful.Grizzly said:I am trying to avoid the usual answers from certain individuals who take pleasure in stating the obvious. Grizzly said:The Nissan Double Take offer stated that you would receive an identical car when you exchanged your 1995 car or better if there was an upgrade.
When my son purchased his 1995 car it had a sun roof. When he went for the 2006 model there was no sunroof. He was told that he would have air conditioning instead. When he said that he would prefer a sunroof he was told that he could have another 1995 model instead of a 1996 model.
