Nightsaver appears on all the time on my esb meter

I have moved into a new apartment recently and keeping an eye on the meter. It appears that the night rate has 400 units used in six weeks and the daytime reading is the same as when I moved in. I'm guessing that the ESB will smell a rat after a while and will check it out. Should I get my own lecky on to this assuming the ESB will charge a lot to send their man out ? Or will they fix it free of charge :) ?

Is it possible that a previous owner opted to change to a single rate supply and rather than put a new meter in, the night rate meter was altered? I would phone your supplier to check

As it's meter, it's illegal for anyone else to touch it other than ESB networks.

This happened in my apartment except the meter was recording day rate all the time. The "relay" in the meter box was defective apparently. I had a long battle to prove that I was being over charged but eventually ESB networks sorted it. I would imagine they will be keen to sort it out for you though!

I will keep the thread informed in the coming month
