Nightlife in New York?

Hi There

Heading over the New York in 2 weeks and looking for some good night life. Pubs, clubs, late bars, whatever. The guide books and websites are well and good but dont trust them so much. Like to hear what the tourist say.
Its 3, 26ish single lads heading over. Done the siteseeing now looking to see the night life. Any recommendations.

You might like this place on times Square [broken link removed] or failing that bleecker st has loads of pubs on it.
 
just came back from 10 days there....bleeker is ok, but if you want decent night life, hit east village. Between Avenue A & B between 4 and 8th street is about the centre of it. 2 for 1 drinks or a free shot with a beer everywhere. Also its right beside NYU which has certain merit!
 

Heard the east village os the place to go alright. Probably check around there early on a see what the story is, an NYU would certainly help to swing the decision.
Anyone heard of Solas? heard its a good starting point.

Would agree with East Village. See www.ryansnyc.com , these pubs well worth visiting. Ryan's itself serves nice food also. Great pub atmosphere and owned by an Irish Man...... Great night life in the area, and buzz on the streets....
