We have booked flights to Alicante for a week in mid-October. Has anyone any recommendations for somewhere within an hour or so of the airport where we might go?
We are in our early thirties, no kids, no interest in 'full Irish breakfast available here' type place (e.g Benidorm). We'd like somwhere with good beaches, a nice selection of restaurants and a bit of life, but not tacky.
We'd hire a car if necessary. So far I'm considering Javea and Calpe, but I don't know that part of Spain at all so any info much appreciated-Gracias.
