Nice Italian Restaurants in Waterford

There's a gang of us going down weekend after next & we're looking for a nice cheap 'n cheerful Italian Restaurant (preferably within walking distance of the Tower Hotel). Any tips & do we need to book?
 
Emilianos in High Street - a couple minutes walk from the Tower - seems to get rave reviews from friends and colleagues. Haven't tried it yet myself but they can't ALL be wrong (?)!

Can definitely vouch for Emilianos - my favourite restaurant in Waterford. I'd advise you to book well in advance though as its extremely popular.

Couldnt help wondering if there is a similar web site in Italy

and if so could there be a thread such as :

"Nice Irish Restaurants in Pisa"
 
Last year I went to Espresso on Parnell St (twice) and was quite impressed.
Not in a great looking area - but good food. Pasta/ Pizza mainly.
They have another "sister" restuarant - which we couldn;t find called la palma - this is supposed to be a classier restaurant and a bit more expensive - it's on the Mall.

If there is, I'll eat the leaning tower, brick by brick....
 
la palma on the mall, 2 mins walk from the tower is very good.
would second emilianos...excellent food and atmosphere.
 
Never got to try out Emiliano's - it was booked up till 10pm on that Friday night. Took the easy option & had the Thai Green Curry in the hotel before hitting the mean streets of Waterford.........
