Hi all,

Trying to pick a hotel near Dublin airport for a night, we arrive at airport at approx 1am in the morning.

I've stayed at the holiday inn express before and found it quite good.

I'm interested in the days hotel apartments also, as there may be 4 of us (not sure yet) and this may work out cheaper than 2 twin rooms. Pics etc. look ok but the review of Days on trip advisor are not good.

We'd be hoping to have a bit of a lie in the next day, have a leisurely breakfast & head in to city centre around midday. So we'd be spending a bit of time in the hotel but not a huge amount.

Any 'hidden gems'? Or would we be better off just taking the pain & getting a bus from the airport straight in to town & stay somewhere in town?

Max budget of 120 per couple/room.

The Crowne Plaza in Santry ( 7/8min by taxi from Airport - not a taximan's preference ever ) is quite good value and food's pretty good there too.
Parking is safe and supervised. Better than Day's and about the same distance from Airport.

The Carlton Hotel, beside the Quick Park is handy. Just ring them when you arrive and their minibus will pick you up at Zone 2 (through the car park outside Arrivals).

The Ballymun Plaza has now changed to a Travelodge, they are advertising rooms from €59 but I don't have any personal experience of it. Just 2 mins from Days Inn.

Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport is advertising "€99 every room, every night" which includes double/twin/family rooms. This doesn't include breakfast, but there is a restaurant onsite which is open for breakfast. They provide a free airport shuttle too. Check out www.bewleyshotels.com
