Nexus 7 problem with trying to power up xmas present for my daughter can any one help

Hello all and happy hollidays i am in a spot of bother my daughters nexus 7 wont power on i bought it from currys in cork all was fine since xmas day we set it up and downloaded anti virus software Norton tablet security as well and also netflix.My Daughter assures me she didnt drop it.Can anybody give advice please.

Is there a reset button (or a hole where a pin would fit in). I've a tablet (not a Nexus) and this has happened before. The reset button sorted it. If there's no reset then maybe hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
