Hi does anyone know where to copies of newspaper archives online, have tried a few websites but none seem to go back far enough,Im looking for front pages of any national newspapers from 1979.Any help would be greatly appreciated as its a present.thanks

I'd say you'll need to get to the National Library and go through their microfilm. That's what I had to do for a college project.

If you're in Dublin, you can go to the Dublin Public Libraries Archive in Pearse St, they offer a free online newspaper service (think it's the Irish Times).

your local public library should have access to the irish times archives online in the library only though.
