Taking a day off next week to head for Sainsburys Newry. Was in a Sainsburys for the first time in Derry during the Summer and was impressed - not so much by the value, rather by the breadth of product range, e.g. we bought pasta there that we had never seen before in Ireland, nor since, and the kids loved it.

3 questions :
- Is Sainsburys in The Quays centre the only one in Newry ?
- I have seen on other threads that Sainsburys Sprucefield is 'better'. Where is
Sprucefield in relation to Newry ?
- Is it better to take cash, if only to avail of the competitive exchange rate ?

Thanks

Sprucefield is a much larger Sainsbury's, its a further 30 minutes or so north of Newry. Im sure theres only one Sainsbury's in Newry in the Quays SC.

On saturday Sainsbury's rate was .68, chekc what rate you can get on sterling dont know if you'll get better than .68

Happy Shopping

I was in Sainsburys Sprucefield last week, only 20 minutes beyond Newry really. Just follow the signs for Belfast, Sprucefield in beside Lisburn.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I now know where Sprucefield is - it is the new place before you transfer from the A1 to the M1. Yes / No ? There is a Sainsburys there.

Anyway we'll stick to Newry & The Quays. Herself wants to check out the Early Learning Centre & Debenhams for bargains and we're tight for time as it is without driving further North.
