I have a number of old clocks that were auction finds and would like to have modern battery powered works put into them...you know the kind you get on all clocks nowadays. anyone known anywher that does this?

Thank you

L

[broken link removed] do these, as do [broken link removed]. Craft Supplies also carry traditional movements, including those for grandfather clocks!

Remember, removing the traditional movements from these clocks will seriously decrease their value.

Thanks so much for this. I don't think the clocks are going to be my pension so I might as well have them working!

terrible! sacrilege!

its like buying an old ferari and sticking a modern fiat engine under the hood!

why go to all the bother of buying them (at auction nonetheless) then wasting them by installing battery powered workings???

maplin as above have these, also try ebay or buyfornow.ie

I gotta agree with the posters above - don't do it! If you want a new clock buy a new one! Don't destroy an antique.

Have you investigated having the original movements restored?

Wooh, ok I'm suitably chastened....anyone know a clock repairer so i don't have to resort to the clear horror of gutting the old boys?

thanks
