New to Ireland - how does local media operate?

Hello. I have just moved to Ireland and I'm launching a well established brand in this country. I am the 'pathfinder' so I don't know much about how the local media operate and how best to contact them.

We already have a media pack. And I have a number of contact names and email addresses in the media. Is it sufficient to email the media pack to these journalists and wait for them to get back to me or should I contact them before I send the press pack? I also have several email contacts for the same magazine/newspaper, should I contact them all?

My product is very visual so should I send photos to the journalist as well or to the editor?

Employ a PR company on a one off project basis they will take care of everything and the cost should be outweighed by the results
