New radiators - Double/Single

Hi,

Anyone have any advice on what radiators to select for what rooms and what sizes are required ?

For example, where would I generally put double radiators (in living room/sitting rooms/kitchen. Singles in bathrooms/halls ? What about bedrooms ?

Should a radiator always be smaller than the width of the window?

Are all modern radiators the same in terms of efficiency ?

There is lots of info on calculating radiator size on the internet.

It calculates the BTU required to heat the room, you then pick a radiator to match. There is more to it than the above system takes into account, such as construction/insulation method.

Your plumber / local heat merchants / DPL will be able to tell you as part of their quote for the material.

You will need to tell them detail like the room measurements, the number of windows, level of insulation and direction of room (north facing / south facing)
