New Job - no salary paid until end of July - Any allowance till then?

All, have just been offered a job but will not be paid until end of July. I was on JB up to the middle of May and am currently receiving a supplementary welfare allowance while waiting for JA claim. Is there any way I will be able to still claim until I get paid as i have no other income? Also what happens to medical card?

No you can't keep on claiming as you won't be available for work. Sorry no idea what happens to medical card.

Can you not get Family Income Supplement or Supplementary Welfare allowance?

You may be entitled to keep your Supplementary Welfare Allowance if you prove to the CWO that you will not get paid until end of July

As Anitac said, you can apply for SWA while waiting on your first wages - talk to your CWO who will advise you.

If you've been unemployed for 12 months, and are returning to full-time work, you can retain your medical card for 3 years. If you are starting part-time work, you can retain your medical card for 3 years after your income exceeds the medical card guidelines.
