Im in a job that Im not over the moon about, there is talk of redundancy.......in 3 or 4 years!! Im here over 10 years and think Im ready for the move. I have a medical for a position in the northwest coming up so it looks good there.
Now the question; am I mad moving from a suburban area to the northwest. I have a fairly good social life, nice house, bunch of friends. The job Im going for is great, the company is a massive multinational with good prospects. But Im afraid Im going to crack up. It will mean moving back to where Im originally from. Ive lost touch with most people and dont want the family (parents) wrecking my head. I need career guidance or a life coach!!

Re: New Job = New life??

Weigh up the pros and cons: you mentioned a "great job" with a new company and also that you're ready for a move and the fact that your present job may be extinct in a few years. That's a lot of pros and we haven't got to the beauty of the N. West! What are the cons? You've lost touch with friends and parents could wreck your head. I'd imagine that you'll make new friends easily and possibly rekindle old friendships. Which leaves the parents question. You needn't move in with them! You can move an hour or so away from them. But the real question is what does your heart say? What's your gut instinct? Try removing some of the variables and see what your answer would be eg if the job was elsewhere would I move? If the parents were elsewhere would I move! Also think about the quality of life you have if you move. Will it be better or worse?
And then make your decision.

Hope this helps.
