Could anybody tell me what the new updated income limit for 2008 is for applying for the affordable housing scheme. I earn €50,000 annualy and was wondering if I qualify??? Could you also let me know what the limit is when applying as a couple???

You can apply for the affordable housing iniavtive - the limit on this is €60K for a single person - this also has a much quicker list.

The standard affordable housing has a limit of €40K for a single person

Duck,

With all due respect if you earn 50k you should actually leave afforadable housing for the people who actually can't afford to buy a house in the mainstream market!

With all due respect you know nothing about the OP.

If you think a single person earning 50k in for this instance (for example) Dublin city can afford a mortgage on a property then you are living in another world, one which your own government doesn't agree with, or are you some sort of economic whiz who can set better thresholds than the state?

Surely the fact that the council allows you to earn up to 60k and still qualify proves that someone earning that "actually can't afford to buy a house in the mainstream market!"........

Anyway, in some of the developments, even with the discounted rate, you couldn't actually afford the mortgage unless you were earning at the higher end of the thresholds?!
