New Housing Estates in Cobh

Was recently looking around Cobh in Cork at the new developments that are out there (eg Cooline, Cluain Ard, Inis Alainn). From what we saw there seems to be a lot more value for money there compared to similiar places we were looking at (eg midelton, ballincollig, carrigaline). Also prices seem to have dropped faster here as opposed to the latter mentioned areas.

There is a lot of heresay and second hand info that Cobh is a 'rough spot', but have not heard of any examples ourselves.

There does seem to be good facilities in the area, as in leisure centre, schools, shops, pubs, train service.

There was another estate called 'The Spires', houses in here seemed nice enough but we were a bit suprised to see that their prices were so low (eg large 4 bed semi for E285) Is there a particular reason why houses in this estate , that seem very nice on the exterior, are going at prices like this?

If anybody knew any more information about the other estates, such as Cooline or Cluain Ard, could they pass on the info please

'em Cobh is nice in summer but aint no Ballincollig by a mile! IMO

Anyone i know does not socialise there even though they live there. Rail link is a plus if you work in the city though.

I live in Cluain Ard - Cobh.

Nice quiet estate.Good houses and yes value for money.

Seen nothing rough about Cobh yet. Well seviced by train with a train every half hour and up to 20 trains a day.

plenty of good schools in Cobh. Good transport - train and ferry over to Passage too. The only thing that I dont like about Cobh is the huge pylons there!
