In ordering windows for our new home there are two main standards of windows
1- 24mm between glazing and externally beaded
2- 28mm between glazing filled with aergon gas and internally beaded.
Price difference is that 1 is approx €1200 cheaper.
I am actually leaning towards 2 as I feel for insulation and heat retention would be better also for security due to the internal beading. Would this be a correct assumption.
Any thoughts?
Ask the manufacturers what the u value is for both windows (and make sure the value includes the frame and not just the glazing..!!). If the difference between the u values is > 0.3 id go for the more expensive frame.
