Am I allowed ask for recommendations in Dublin area? Need someone to supply and fit new gas boiler.

I have the RGI registration list, but ploughing through dozens of names when they don't reply/answer/keep appointments is quite frustrating.

I got a good all-round deal with airtricity a few yrs back ( in Dublin and including spec. for SEAI grant) and a four yr service agreement. I think you need to focus on what model/brand you go for, I went for the Wochester Bosch which costs a few 100 more as they had very good reviews. Do a search for the best boilers online. I know I looked on some UK consumer websites for recommendations.

It's not the brand of boiler that's the problem; I need someone to fit it!

edit: thank you Clara16, just saw yr post now

Okay Thirsty, I have to say I found airtricity very good service wise. They were in an out and really had no problems with them. I'm not with then for gas/electricity- but happy with the installation and I kind of like the idea of dealing with a large company for big-ticket installations.

You are, the only restriction is that only Frequent Posters may provide recommendations. Anyone seeking to bypass that by using PM will face a permanent ban.

I strongly recommend GD Heating at 087 221 0936. No connection; just a satisfied customer.

I used Gas Safe for a new boiler in 2008 and have used them ever since for servicing, found them to be very good and quite reasonable with regards to price.
Have recommended them to a lot of people over the years and most are now happy customers

I had awful trouble with One of company's mentioned in the previous post - installed boiler and some of rads never worked. Very expensive also. Tried to tell me it was a piping issue, came ,out w few times, couldn't solve and even suggested taking up the floors! Stopped taking my calls. Luckily a reputable plumber spotted the problem and had it fixed in no time. Would not go near them! That's just my experience.

Just google them. I've used them lots. Actually it's David Galligan! Try mobile rather than landline

Does 2450 sound reasonable?

Supply and fit 15kw condensing boiler, filter thing to clean the rads (is this a gimmick or does it work?), some electrical work and a Climote controller.

Sounds like good value. I paid just over €3K for Worchester Bosch Greenstar 18KW with 4 yr service contract. I have the magnet filter (and it does work).

You can post here; if they are RGI approved, the contact details are in the public domain anyway.

Reminder, recommendations via PM are not allowed and may result in a permanent ban.
