we used to have a coal fire in the 1 story extension. This was then modified to take a Gas wall mount type fire that used the chimney as normal
However over the years the chimney breast was coming away from the house and I had it taken down to just over the roof (1st floor) and capped off with a slate and concrete.
I have heard good things about coal stove burners and I am trying to find out what exactly I can do
1.
Can I extend the current flue.
I think it needs to be a double walled stainless flue. Dont know where to get these
2.
run a 6inch flue inside the current flue (12" i think)
Is this an expensive operation
