New energy efficiency ratings - how valuable ?

I am looking at purchasing in one of two new developments in my area, which are being built as A-rated energy efficient homes, with a expected 40% reduction in energy requirements.

How important do you think it is for future re-sale value to have an A-rated home? All other things being equal, what kind of price differential would you expect to find between two identical houses side-by-side if one was an A rating and the second a B-rating ?

Do you feel A-rating is the way to go these days?

Are those regulations in effect yet? It's probably too early to give any kind of difinitive answer. What's the difference in price between the A and B rated properties new?

Obviously, the better the rating, the lower your energy bills will be. So it makes sense to go for the better rating unless there is a significant premium.
