New Consumer Board announced by the Tanaiste?

In today's Irish Times, John McManus reports that last week, the Tanaiste "announced the creation of a board to advise her on consumer issues and promote consumer rights".

Has anyone heard anything about this?

She doesn't seem to have announced it on her website: www.entemp.ie/press.htm

Do the ODCA and ECC not do a similar job already?

John McManus's article suggested that the new board would make the Consumers Association of Ireland redundant, if it wasn't already redundant. When I read it first, I thought he was referring to the ODCA.

But isn't the CA a non statutory body? I would always be in favour of having a non statutory consumer lobby group but I'm not sure that the CA is it to be honest... :|
