New baby an GP only medical card

I would appreciate your advice!
We have just had a new baby and we have the GP card for us and our two other children. What happens with the baby? Do we need to be reassessed again or is he covered? We are due to be assessed again in January.
 
Hiya..congrats on the new Baby

I had a baby a little while ago myself & i rung up the Medical card office & they just added her & sent us out a new card in the post.They do not assess you again for a new baby.

The baby will be covered for the 1st 6 weeks under the maternity & infant scheme & hopefully by then your new card will be issued.Mine took a week or 2 only
