netopia router reverted back to eircom settings

We were with Eircom BB for a couple of years and got their Netopia router. We changed over to BT last August and just reconfigured the router to BT settings.

Last week for some unknown reason the router reset itself to Eircom settings and 'lost' the BT account info. Once we figured out what had happened it was straight forward to fix but it left the wireless network unsecure for several hours without us knowing.

Anyone know what might have happened - we figured that the router might be 'flaky' it's about 3 years old now!!

Hi, I recently switched from eircom to BT ( and have jumped from the frying pan into the fire, but i suppose that is beside the point -), bt service is unbelievably bad!), anyway the guy that talked me through changing the router settings from eircom to bt said: if I switch the router off at the back ( ie for a reset) that would activate the old eircom settings again. And I suppose a powercut might do the same thing?
