Negotiate with an employment agency

Hi,

I was employed through a recruitment agancy for a four month contract last year. The contract has been renewed several times. I am still here 1 year later & it looks like it will be renewed again.

The recruitment agancy pay me a daily rate.

Is it common practise to re-negotiate this rate with the agancy?

I feel as though they took their commission based on placing me for four months, and now they are getting money for old rope.Am I being reasonable?

Also can anyone tell me what the average cut the agencies take is?

i've seen agencies add anything from 10% of your daily rate right through to 200%.

it's all down to your negotiating skills and yes - you should try to renegotiate.
