Need to get clocks fixed

i have an old clock I need repaired and have been told by a very reputabel jeweller in Galway that there is noone that repairs clocks these days. Any know of any clock maker/mender?

Maybe check with antique shops as they would be more likely to know who would be fixing clocks..
The actual problem with most old clocks is they need cleaning and oiling more than anything.
 
This is probably only of use to people living in Dublin, but MacManus Jewellers on George's St in Dun Laoghaire also fix old clocks and watches.

there is a guy in abbeygate street. up stairs above the beauticians on the left if coming from the AIB. Also a guy in Domonic Street fixed a clock for my mother in law last month. if you want i will ask her for details.

used to work in this trade - old clock repairs are very much a specialist skill, and there are evry few people in ireland who can offer such a service

if the clock is valuable then i recommend Stokes in Cork (McCurtain Street) - they were still there as of 3 years ago and the guy was quite young so i assume he is still at it.

however it will not be cheap

They're in Galway.

Incidentally, if the clocks are running fast, simply soak them in sheepdip for a while. That'll get rid of some of the ticks...............

 
There used to be a specialist antique clock shop on Patricks Street in Dublin. Its been there for years . I think its still there but am not sure.
 
There was/is a guy who advertises in the Sunday Business Post -watch/clock repairs ,im sure if you get in touch with the post they could track his number for you ....Good Luck !
