Need the name and number of a cheap solicitor

Hi

I am new to this. Does anyone know the aproximate cost of switching your mortgage from one bank to another? Our mortgage now is on "tracker" rate so i do not think there is a penalty for closing it. Also, can anybody give me the number of a cheap solicitor (only need it for switching the mortgage).

there are a few banks who will offer you a fee's free switch. try Ulster bank, EBS or IIB home loans ( mortgage amount must exceed €200k to avail of fees free with IIB)

Thanks so much for that. We're going to switch to fixed rates and those 3 banks happen to be the most expensive at the minute but that information helps anyway. We will make an appointment with the banks that have the best rates and hope for the best.
