Hi,
I think I may need to see an accountant about my financial situation. Someone who can advise me on maternity benefit, unemployment and mortgage interest relief as I have just found out I will be unemployed as I start my maternity leave in November and have a HUGE number of bills to meet each month and have no idea how I can manage or pay my mortgage
I am not married, I have another half but his earnings are pittance and he may not even have a job before my maternity starts.
We are up the creek without a paddle

If anyone here can recommend a good financial advisor that we can talk to/hire about the best way we can get around this and advise us on our entitlements I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi Bambina,

Welcome to AAM.

Sorry to hear about your financial worries.

I have moved your thread to this forum in the hopes that you might get a recommendation.

As your funds will be stretched enough in the future the cost of a financial advisor may just make the situation worse.

You could do the following:

1. Familiarise yourself with the topics mentioned by reading through AAM.

2. Post your financial situation in the Money Makeover forum and read through some of the previous posts there.

3. Make an appointment asap to speak with www.mabs.ie

4. Read through www.welfare.ie and this key post on AAM.

The website www.citizensinformation.ie will help also.

Best of luck with the pregnancy.

Sue Ellen.
