1) How to remove stains from table tops? Or some coating material that can be used to hide the stain (tea cup and liquid stains).

2) How can stains be removed from kitchen worktops? Yellow stains. And is there anything that can be used to bring back the shine and gloss of the worktop like some polish?

3) Some of the sheets of our vertical blind is off. Can I buy individual slats anywhere? From where can I buy cheap blinds?

Appreciate any tried and tested methods.

Sorry, but cant help with blinds.

For good advice for the table and worktops you will have to tell us what material they are made from.

wood / formica / granite ?

Thank you for replying huskerdu.

table- light brown coloured wood
worktop- white and black grained granite top

I have granite worktops but (thankfully) no experience of stains.

For the wooden table, Have you tried giving it the father and mother of all scrubbing with Jif and a good scourer. ( I recommend the Killeen Cloth o Gold, it will take anything off anything). I have done this and been amazed at the results.

If that does not work, the stain has soaked in and the only way to properly restore it is to sand and varnish. Even if you have never done that, its easy, but time consuming and the results are worth it. You'll think you have a new table.

For water damage to wood that leaves a white ring, rub with half a walnut.

For stained worktop, apply a dilute amount of bleach and leave for few minutes then wipe off. I use Milton sterilising solution found in baby aisle of supermarket. Mind don't get on clothes.

Dont know about blinds but net curtains are probably cheaper. You can get in cream plain sheer with leadweighted hems to hang well on full drop.

the kitchen worktop could be coffee earthstone...tried scrubbing and those parts have become discolored. can anything be done to fix it?

Do you know what finish is on the table? Is it oiled, varnished, french polished? The solution will depend on the finish. Don't go down the scourer route until you know this, you may just make the situation worse.

Earthstone is supposed to be non-porous, so stains shouldn't penetrate. You could get the surface re-dressed (light abbrasion followed by a re-polish), but this is best done by the pros so the surface remains flat.
