Hello all,

I hope sombody can throw some light on the follwing..

to make a very long and stressful story short..

over a year ago aranged with my bank to free up 95k for investment property..

that was last nov 06! the ban totally messe d me about and though I was instrucedt by them I needed a life cover to covr the 95k,the loan had not go through for reasons too stupid to go into..
anyway had to arrange overdraft fro the first 20k as was gooing to loose the appartment etc etc..

this 20k was to be cleared as soon as they finally got it all sorted out and I would be paying it a morgatge rate approx 4.8 at the time ,as you would expect with a home loan....

anyway over a year later my insuranc policy has expired...and had to be renewed, still have not been put right..

I have mate hundreds of calls etc to the bank and each time they say they need this document of the fire policy etcetc..all wich have been sent several times,,,,,,add into the mix that over this period I have had numeroud letters sayinf as I HAVNT AVAILED OF THERE letters of offers new interest rates will apply etc etc..

Anyway i Have been paying this 20 kfor 14 months now @11.99%!!!!

payed nearly 4 k more than I should and still paying,,,,,,the night mare is still going on..

tremember the loan was approved over ayear also....when Iring up to say whats happening ,they say you need this and that,,,,but my question is always why didnt somone contact me!!

anyway as a result my finances are now extreeeemly strained....

am I entitled to get the overpayment back!! have I any rights at all..

any advise greatly appriecated..

You should write a final letter to them saying that you are going to talk to this man [broken link removed] unless it is sorted. The ombudsman can makes financial awards in some cases.

In any event why not just arrange your 95k somewhere else. Surely a bank treating you like that doesn't want your business.

First bit of advice is to change the title of your thread to be more specific to the nature of problem. You might get better response.
