Need advice to borrow or not to borrow

Story is just came into €1500 from a motor insurance claim. I am going on holidays in 6 weeks to the states and I really dont know what to do with this money. I owe the credit union €2600 and have €1000 in my shares.

I was thinking of paying €500 off my credit union and putting €1000 in shares and borrowing to go on holidays, or else keeping my €1500 and just borrowing another €1500 from the bank.

Can anyone offer any advice on whats the best thing to do?

Am open to different suggestions (not going on hols isnt an option tho lol)

If you are going to have to borrow money to go on your holiday, I see no reason to save the €1500! Use it towards the holiday, that's what I would do...
